It is a listed monument and stands in the old centre of the former German district, next to other historic buildings.
About the place
Bocșa Montană grew up in the 18th century around the ironworks, with miners and smelters brought from Austria and Bohemia. Their Roman Catholic church, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, was built in 1738, rebuilt in 1840, and is a listed monument.
The same street has other listed buildings: the 1840 school, the 19th-century town hall, an obelisk to the 1848 Revolution and the 1920 Heroes' Monument. You can see them all on a short walk.
