About the place

A chapel was built beside it in 1894, and on Saint Elijah's day thousands of pilgrims came here.
The monastery was built in the early 20th century, after years of effort by believers from Reșița and Vasiova and by the monk Macarie Gușcă. The ensemble, with Saint Elijah church and the monks' cells, is a listed monument. It holds 4.8 on Google from 185 reviews.
