It is a listed monument and the town's first Roman Catholic church, with a 1929 Wegenstein organ.
About the place
The church was built between 1846 and 1853, on the site of a wooden church from 1771, in Reșița Montană, the ironworks settlement where German families from Styria and Carinthia had been brought from 1776. Its feast, Our Lady of the Snows, is held on the Sunday closest to 5 August. The ensemble is a listed monument.
Inside is a Romantic organ built in 1929 by Richard Wegenstein of Timișoara and restored in 2010. Masses are held in Romanian, Hungarian and German.
