About the place
The fountain is by sculptor Constantin Lucaci (1923–2014), born in nearby Bocșa and known for his kinetic fountains. The Reșița one dates from 1984: jets of water play among stainless steel forms.
Around it lies the Civic Centre, with café terraces and the Palatul Cultural, a listed building from 1928. The Teatrul de Vest is based on the square, and the Customs Bridge over the Bârzava is about 200 metres away.
