About the place
The zoo started in the 1960s as a small animal corner in a school yard, set up by biology teacher Ioan Crișan, whose name it carries. It later moved to the town park, opened in 1965 and was modernised in 2013.
It has about 45 species and 360 animals: bears, lions, tigers, jaguars, wisent, llamas, emus and many birds. Reviews from 2026 praise the tree-filled park and the children's playground.
